Join Women in Planning West Midlands for an Active Travel Teach in with PJA

PJA are widely renowned for being a leader in the active travel field with Chairman Phil Jones sitting on the non-executive board at Active Travel England (ATE)  and with PJA having operated as the ‘shadow body’ while ATE was being set up.  Active Travel England is the government’s executive agency responsible for making walking, wheeling and cycling the preferred choice for everyone to get around in England.  PJA will be hosting a session to share experience of working on ‘both sides of the fence’ identifying how the whole industry can apply good practice. With fellow professionals in attendance there will be an opportunity to share work experiences and for PJA to offer pragmatic advice on how to navigate the new requirements effectively, based on wide-ranging experience.

Expect from this event a presentation by Lianne Baker-Brook, Steve Bates and Phil Jones on:

  • Role of ATE – what powers do they have
  • PJA’s role with ATE and their experience
  • Which schemes/developments are likely to be reviewed
  • Implications for development – what does it actually mean?
  • ATE planning application assessment Toolkit

The schedule for the day is:

  • Breakfast/registration from 8:15
  • Event starts 9
  • Speaking closes 9:45
  • 9:45-10 Q&A/other people’s experiences
